The Stinson Beach Motel features a beautiful collection of flowering
shrubs. Our star attraction is a bright red bougainvillea that is
in bloom for 6 months from May through October. This giant is 12
feet tall and 10 feet wide and is located in the first courtyard
opposite room #1. Our giant Philodendron is 7 feet wide and 7 feet tall and is located next
to the second arched trellis. This second arch way features a huge
flowering purple clematis which blooms October thru March. As we
enter our second courtyard we are greeted by a beautiful pink fuchsia
and ten reclining deck chairs to relax in. From here it is easy
to smell the towering star jasmine which arches over the entrance
to room #3. A lovely pink bougainvillea also arches over this doorway.
Next to the entrance of room #4 is the unusual looking tall Papyrus
with a hundred stalks jutting out of the earth. We have a big yellow
African daisy at the doorway of room #6 and a big pink Geranium
next to room #8. This second courtyard branches and travels down
a path alongside an unbelievable 15 foot wide pink fuchsia which
has climbed to 8 feet high. It really is a beauty. At the end of
the path is a large old Ichium tree with dozens of flowering purple
cones. Another branch off the second courtyard takes you to our
rear courtyard with its trellis's towering with purple Morning Glories
12 feet high. Because everything grows so well here at Stinson Beach
no matter which month of the year you visit something is always in bloom.
